I-TRAIN

SHORT TRAVEL, FOR MANY REASONS!

WELCOME TO OUR SHORT TRAVEL PLATFORM

The I-TRAIN is a fast full suspension frame with 120 MM, 130 MM or 140MM of rear wheel travel and up to 150 MM on the front. It is offered in various wheel sizes, including a 32-inch version. Short travel means efficiency, agility and response – For us, there are so many reasons to ride short travel bikes. We love long days in the woods as well as quick sessions with maximum fun. We designed it to be extremely active, ultra efficient and super fun, no matter what direction the trail points. Dive in and learn more about the I-TRAIN philosophy!

WHEEL SIZE MATTERS

We believe that your bike should be perfectly matched to your dimensions and your riding. That’s why the I-TRAIN platform is designed to offer maximum versatility and the different wheel sizes 29”, 32” and all Mullet options.

THE I-TRAIN 32 IS HERE!

We developed the I-TRAIN 32 as a no-compromise 32-inch machine – Ready to Shred! The geometry has been dialed in 100% for the 32-inch wheels, but it still carries the DNA of the 29-inch I-TRAIN. This means it’s not just a straight-up XC-racer; it’s a true Trail Bike.
All the rider contact points have been kept analogues to the 29-inch I-TRAIN. To pull this off, we engineered and manufactured an optional, proprietary stem from the ground up. The entire frame structure has been optimized for increased loads, such as those resulting from longer forks, a shorter head tube, and a longer rear end.

CNC MACHINED

We are experts in CNC. So why not machine to thin shell elements and bond them together by adhesive to achieve a lightweight hollow construction? The use of 7075-T6 aluminum leads to an excellent weight to strength ratio. It is thus not surprising that with 1.400 g, this main frame triangle beats lightweight records. And by the way, we can make it look damn cool!

The I-TRAIN MK2 is now completed by CNC machined seatstays and chainstays, which make the frame look virtually fashioned from one piece.

ANODIZED ALUMINUM

At ACTOFIVE we love colors and we love to give free rein to your creativity when it comes to your dream bike. You can choose between different colors plus raw aluminum and combinations. Check out the configuration tool at the SHOP.

VERSATILE AND VARIABLE

The I-TRAIN offers various travel settings that make it a very versatile platform for all your riding. With 120mm, 130mm, and 140mm of rear wheel travel you can really dial in your favourite setup! All the below options are achieved with just using different shock lengths. It works plug&play, no rocker or frame modifcation is neccessary! And due to it´s leverage ratio, you can even mount a coil shock. Awesome!

Just like our P-TRAIN, the I-TRAIN gets our ADJUSTABLE RIDE° (AR°) headset system to enable you to adjust the headtube angle by one degree. This level of adjustment is huge, especially when paired with the versatility of the platform as a whole and the adjustable rear suspension travel!

With the included Flip Chips you can set the chassis height to Neutral, High and Low. Get in touch if you have any questions and we’ll help decide what’s best for you!

YOUR DOWNCOUNTRY BIKE

120MM rear travel (190×45 [MM] shock) We recommend a 130mm fork for efficient, all-day-epic, trail-focused rides. The build shown here is 12,0 Kg (w/o pedals).

YOUR TRAIL BIKE

140MM (210×55 [MM] shock) rear travel. We recommend a 140mm or 150mm fork to make it playful yet efficient for those bike park weekends or rides with big “chunk”. The build shown here is 14,5 Kg (w/o pedals).

ADJUSTABLE PIVOT°

A new feature is the ADJUSTABLE PIVOT°. The frame provides four different main pivot settings, which allows different Anti-Squat behaviors. (The main pivot is located between the chainstag and the main frame)

POSITION1: A good base setup with high level Anti-Squat and low Pedal Kickback. This Position is the same as the MK1 I-TRAIN.

POSITION2: A more efficient setup with higher Anti-Squat and medium Pedal Kickback. That´s our recommendet setup.

POSITION3: A super efficient setup with high Anti-Squat but noticable Pedal Kickback. Use it for Downcountry, 34T chainrings, or with Ochain.

POSITION4: An extreme setup providing a mini High Pivot feeling. Only recommendet with Ochain or similar systems.

SHORT TRAVEL, FOR MANY REASONS!

Short travel means efficiency, agility and response – For us, there are so many reasons to ride short travel bikes. We love long days in the woods as well as quick sessions with maximum fun.

EFFICIENCY – The precisely designed four bar kinematics balances between a high anti-squat value and a favorable pedal kickback. In other words, if you push hard the bike feels firm. Getting loose, the suspension works sensitively, but with high support and a lively character.

FUN – Agility and response combined with low, long and mid-slack geometry. The I-TRAIN will be your best buddy for all types of terrain, even when it gets rowdy.

Oh, and it´s a monster in corners.

MULLET OPTION

Maximizing fun and maneuverability –  By exchanging the setting elements of the Chain Stay you can easy convert from 29″ or 32″ to Mullet. It works for all travel options.

BALANCED GEOMETRY

At ACTOFIVE we´re big fans of a low and balanced center of gravity. The long Reach values distribute the rider’s mass centrally into the chassis, which allows for a high stability on descents and loads of traction on the front wheel. The low Bottom Bracket Height makes wonders in corners and due to the low suspension travel it won’t bother you with pedal strikes. Playfulness and agility are achieved by short Chainstays and a moderate Head Angle. And did we mention the new I-TRAIN is a corner eatin` Monster?

STORAGE CONCEPT

What a cool feature is this direct mount frame bag we offer with the I-TRAIN? It carries all you need for a quick session or gives extra storage for epic days in the woods. Oh, and it´s made locally by passionate people.

“…EVERY PART OF THE RIDE IS A GAME”

Vojtěch Bláha, CZ national enduro champ: “It’s not about waiting until you reach the top of the trail. On the I-TRAIN every part of the ride is a game! …The bike grips so well that sometimes I forgot I’m not on my enduro bike and went big anyway… That was wild!”

“My experience with the I-TRAIN MK2 frame has been super smooth. I’ve tested  different set-ups and right now I’m obviously loving the low chassis position, paired with highest pivot point (pos 4, with Ochain). The bike feels confident in steeper bike park trails even with 140mm at the back AND the MK2 is totally crazy in corners. The fastest cornering bike I’ve ever ridden!”

RIDER FOR RIDERS

Simon Metzner, CEO: “I am proud of being independent and free to pursue ideas that truly fascinate me as MTB rider. With my company METZNER Engineering Ltd., we´re experts in engineering and CNC machining. It’s great that ACTOFIVE is now the majority of our work. The I-TRAIN is the latest coup in the ACTOFIVE lineup and fulfills my personal dream of a light and fast CNC bike – and by the way, this is the lightest CNC frame on earth! I love my I-TRAIN for all-day-epic, trail focused rides and as the perfect complement for my big hitting P-TRAIN. With its variability, it offers me the perfect platform to test different setups, because I’m really into experimenting. Right at my local riding spots, it reawakens mellow trails to new life – bet you´ll have a blast on it too!”
